What is the Sīrah?

The Sīrah (سيرة) is the biography of the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ — the record of his life, character, and the events of his prophetic mission. It is one of the most studied subjects in the Islamic sciences, serving as both historical record and moral guide. Understanding the Sīrah is essential for understanding the Quran, the Sunnah, and the development of Islamic law.

In the Dars-e-Nizāmī curriculum, Sīrah is taught across multiple years. The IlmMaps Sīrah collection maps each year of the Makkah and Madīnah periods separately, allowing students and teachers to navigate the timeline with precision.

How to use these maps

Each map covers one period or year of the Sīrah. Navigate chronologically — start from the root node and expand events in order. The breadcrumb at the top shows where you are in the timeline. Press F to fit the full map to screen.

For class use: project one map per lesson. Expand the relevant events for that class and collapse what you've already covered. Students can use the outliner view (press O) to get a bird's-eye view of the entire period before the lesson begins.
